Photography school: Black & White

Maybe some of you think that B&W photography died, but be sure that even now they are valued more than color photography. One of the reasons for that is hardness of making good B&W photos. To make them look good you have to satisfy many criteria. For example, contrast, which can be compensated in color photography by different colors, must be perfect. If you are photographing people (portrait photography, life photography) the difference in exposure between people and background must be big so they wouldn’t merged. Knowledge of how colors look like in B&W is also very important so that a good contrast could be achieved.
Nowadays, with digital cameras, it is recommended to make photos originally with colors and later in programs for their processing (such as Photoshop), they can be converted to B&W. That way you can affect on a contrast and other things, because it is usually unavoidable. In later posts, I will try to demonstrate such an action. For now, list your recent photos and try to find some with a good contrast, not to many details, so you can use them and make something good. Or if you’re in a mood for that, take some photos of people (portraits or life) with having these tips in mind while photographing. Ardent camera lovers love the best digital cameras being offered these days. We now have a digital video camera, and various gadgets to go with it. Once bothered by camera lens, people now have digital camera memory to worry about.
