Photography tips: “Contre-jour” or Against daylight

While walking on the Kalemegdan fortress in Belgrade on late afternoon, i tough that this way of photographing, known as Contre-jour would be appropriate to describe the greatness of this Monument to the liberator, one of Belgrade’s symbols. It is not easy to make this kind of photographies because you would probably need some manual functions on your camera, but it wouldn’t cost you to try. Firstly you must hide the source of light, and that way you will surely loose details on the object of interest but that is the main beauty of this photo. In some cases when sun rays are visible, don’t possibly miss the chance to document that moment because later that is very useful material to make great things in Photoshop, but I’ll write about it in next couple of days.
